HKKH Partnership presents Land Cover Mapping of SNPBZ to DNPWC
During an official ceremony held at the Department of National Parks, Wildlife and Conservation (DNPWC), the HKKH Partnership handed over the results of land cover research in the Sagarmatha National Park and its Buffer Zone (SNPBZ) to DNPWC.
Amidst the presence of officials from the DNPWC and HKKH Partnership Partners, including researchers, Emanuelle Cuccillato, Chief Technical Officer of HKKH Partnership, handed over the results of the Sagarmatha National Park Land Cover Research and the Decision Support Toolbox Software (v. 2.0 beta) and hardware to operate it to the Director General of DNPWC, Mr. Annapruna Nanda Das. The Director General said DNPWC would like to see extended use of these innovative products within all national parks in Nepal.
The HKKH Partnership Project aims at consolidation of institutional capacity for systemic planning and management at the local, national and regional levels in the Hindu Kush - Karakoram - Himalaya region and beyond. It is supported by the Italian Cooperation (MAE-DGCS) and implemented by IUCN Nepal in partnership with ICIMOD, Ev-K2-CNR, and CESVI.
