Regional Community Forestry Training Center for Asia and the Pacific (RECOFTC) and East-West Center has released a new publication "Hanging in the Balance: Equity in Community-Based Natural Resource Management in Asia". It features case studies that examine the potential of community based natural resource management to contribute to equity in Cambodia, China, India, Indonesia, Laos, Nepal, the Philippines, Thailand and Vietnam.
The papers were developed at the ‘Eleventh Workshop on Community Management of Forest Lands: Equity in community-Based Natural Resource Management’, held in Bangkok in August 2005.
The publication features two case studies from Nepal:
