| Abstract | Due to the continuous habitat destruction and fragmentation, the population of tiger is being restricted to smaller habitats. There is a lack of migration between the insular populations. The lack of gene flow in the isolated populations and, the decreasing size of populations in a given habitat, the probability of inbreeding and inbreeding depression have greatly increased in Nepal. The purpose of this paper is to study the probability of inbreeding depression in tiger in Nepal, and assess the efforts made so far to improve the situation. |
