| Abstract | Sixty D. sissoo seed sources covering most of the natural range in India and Nepal were studied. Significant variation among sources was observed for several pod and seed traits. Variation was greatest for 1000-seed weight and number of seeds per pod, which could be important criteria in selecting and classifying seed sources. Variation in the above traits did not show any particular trend and appeared to be discontinuous or non- clinal. The possible explanations for such variations are discussed. |
