Eight international processes working to develop and implement criteria and indicators for sustainable forest management are enumerated and briefly discussed. Forest management and development of criteria and indicators in Bhutan, China, Mongolia and Nepal are also discussed including a tabulated framework of the national- and sub-national level criteria and indicators for sustainable management in China. A strategic plan and timeframe for regional, national and local levels of testing criteria and indicators of dry forests in the region is also tabulated.
