Secretariat of the Fifth Community Forestry National Workshop invites
application from Nepali citizens for the position of Workshop
Management Specialist. This position will be based at Department of
Forest, Babarmahal, Kathmandu. The candidate should have academic
qualification of Masters in Natural Resource Management or related
subjects with ten years of experience in relevant field. He/she should
have good command of English and Nepali (Writing, reading and
communicating).

Position:    Workshop Management Specialist

Report to:    Coordinator, Organizing Committee

Tenure:    6 Man Months over a period of 10 months

Major Responsibilities:

  1. To communicate on all the technical issues related to both
    the CF National and International workshops and act as per the
    suggestions of the organizing committee.
  2. To setup and update the website of the workshops.
  3. To report work progress to the Coordinator, Organizing Committee on a regular basis.
  4. To do preliminary review of the workshop papers and provide feedback to the authors based on the peer review.
  5. To assist Technical Sub-committee in the selection and finalizing papers and other presentations.
  6. To support jointly with the Member Secretary on facilitation and design of the workshops 
  7. To explore potential partners/supporters/donors for the workshops and establish regular communication with them.
  8. To manage jointly with the Member Secretary the workshop funds and prepare account as required.
  9. To maintain and manage the secretariat office and equipment.
  10. To
    develop and produce promotional materials such as brochures, press
    releases etc. and ensure adequate publicity about the workshop.
  11. To give support in preparing the report/proceeding of the workshops.
  12. To
    provide a central point for taking forward action on the workshop
    recommendations and other forest policy related recommendations e.g.
    arising from the task force within the Department of Forests, and
    integrating these into a longer term forest sector policy development
    process.
  13. To maintain the database of the workshop
    (applicant, abstract submitted, participants, paper/poster presented,
    expenditure, financial contribution from different organization etc.)
  14. To perform other activities as defined by the Organizing Committee.


The Workshop Management Specialist will work closely with and under the
guidance of the Coordinator of the Organizing Committee.
