Gender and Social inclusion Advisor at CARE Nepal
CARE Nepal invites applications from interested female candidates for the position of Gender & Social Inclusion Advisor for Churia Livelihood Improvement Project (CHULI). The project is for six years started from July 2007 and it's working districts are Sarlahi, Mahottari, and Dhanusa. The aim of this project is to contribute to improving the livelihood security of the poor, vulnerable and socially excluded women, men, girls and boys in Sarlahi, Mahottari and Dhanusa districts at household, group, community, and district levels.
JOB SUMMARY:
The Gender and Social inclusion Advisor will be responsible to ensure that all programs in the Cluster are fully incorporating and mainstreaming sensitivity to gender and inclusion issues in aspects of team awareness, sensitive assessment, project design, program implementation, M&E, liaison and advocacy. The incumbent will operate as a conduit for the voices of women and vulnerable groups. The incumbent will work as a technical advisor to other team members and as a resource and advocate on gender and diversity issues for the wider Cluster program. She will also work as resource person for entire Janakpur Cluster Program for gender and social inclusion issues. In addition to this, the incumbent will oversee SAEENO Project and the supervision of Program Officer of SAEENO. The Advisor will facilitate social integration processes, including continuing efforts to clarify the interconnection of development work with gender equity and diversity. The Advisor also requires to support in programming to ensure the full inclusion of gender perspectives. The Advisor will report to the Area Program Manager and maintain close relationship with other managers in the Cluster.

REQUIRED COMPETENCIES:
- Experience and knowledge in gender and social inclusion.
- Skills on community led-participatory assessment/analysis and action.
- Skills and experience in networking and alliance building.
- Ability to conduct training & institutional capacity building.
- Management and supervisory skill.
- Good coordination and communication skill.
- Computer literacy.
QUALIFICATION:
- Master's degree in sociology or gender studies or Gender Development Issues or Forestry.
- At least three years of experience in relevant field.
- Knowledge in NRM will be an added advantage.
