Global Environment Facility - Small Grant Programme (GEF-SGP) has approved 16 new projects in 2006. It includes $28,510 Phase III grant for Nepal Foresters' Association (NFA) which will fund action research component of the project Developing National Forest Certification Standard in Nepal.

GEF-SGP supports activities of non-governmental and community-based organizations in developing countries towards climate change abatement, conservation of biodiversity, protection of international waters, reduction of the impact of persistent organic pollutants and prevention of land degradation while generating sustainable livelihoods.
