'State Protecting Timber Smugglers'

Minister of Forest and Soil Conservation Matrika Yadav said that deforestation in the country is going unabated because the state 'has been protecting timber smugglers.' Minister Yadav said: "Everyone, from ranger, district forest officer (DFO) to the director-general (DG), are protecting the smugglers. Nepal has turned into a hub for smugglers."

Inaugurating the third convention of the Nepal Forest Guards in Nepalgunj on Sunday, he termed the guards a "toothless tiger at the hands of smugglers".

"Although forest guard is the final authority to check deforestation, he is powerless. Detained smugglers were released on the orders of the DFOs and the ministers," Yadav further said.

Urging forest guards, rangers and DFOs to work honestly, he said: "Be content with whatever you people earned in the past. Time has come for you to pledge that you will never indulge in corruption nor will let ministers do the same."

take action rather than saying

he is somewhat correct, but i think it is better to take action against the defaulter or corrupted rather than speaking loudly.

there is no matter to say so

being a powerful ministry of Forest and soil conservation, it is fool to say like a lay person who is powerless, illegitimate and lack of responsibility. if he is a real minister and do not support the smugglers by himself, he should have to take action against those smugglers. instead of saying forest guards as toothless tigers, i think the minister is tootheless tiger covering the blanket of minister

he is some what correct, but

he is some what correct, but i think, the political situation is not favour to controle corruption. Political leader are stand on the base of corruption. Then it will be possible. Otherwise all the civil servant should enter into corruption world.
