'Proportion of community managed forests should be taken to 100 percent'

November 23-29 Issue of Nepali Times has a story on how political uncertainty in the country is wiping out forests of Tarai and Chure. The article reports that during the last year after the cease fire the worst destruction happened to the forests which were much better protected during the ten years of conflict. The article also features interviews with officials from FECOFUN who asked for proportion of community managed forests to be increased from 26 percent to 100 percent.
