In a new paper published in Small-Scale Forestry, Tek Narayan Maraseni has developed criteria for selecting and ranking non timber forest species for community and private plantations in both low altitude (166 to 1000 masl) and high altitude areas (1000 to 2586 masl) of Makawanpur district of Nepal.

A new article published in Journal of Zoology assesses the extent of the impact of recolonizing population of elephants on woody vegetation in Bardia National Park. The study also estimates individual tree species vulnerability to elephant impact and calculates simple predictions of their future presence in the forest.

A new article in Geoforum by Samantha Jones of Northumbria University explores how national policy has been mediated by emerging community forestry institutions to create different levels of resource access and benefit distribution both within and between local user groups. The study examines three diverse buffer zone community forests along Barandabhar Corridor within the Tiger Rhino Conservation Project (TRCP).
