Preliminary survey works
1. Prepare sketch map showing:
- Catchment area and major land use types
- Gully/landslide area and active head areas
- Water courses (including rills)
2. Survey the longitudinal profile and cross section where the checkdams and other measures are to be installed. Use clinometer and measuring tape.
3. Recommend and implement conservation techniques
