Alternative Energy Promotion Centre
AEPC was established in November 3, 1996 under control of Alternative Energy Promotion Development Board (AEPDB). AEPC is under the Ministry of Science and Technology (MoST). Minister for Science and Technology is the chairman of the board.
AEPC was set up to promote the use of renewable energy technologies to meet the energy needs in rural areas of Nepal. Acting as an intermediary institution between the operational level NGOs/ private promoters of renewable energy and the policy deciding levels in relevant ministries, AEPC's activities include renewable energy policy formulation and planning and facilitating the implementation of the policies/ plans.
