Abstract

These two methods of tree growth analysis are described and contrasted. The advantages of using increment boring as a stem analysis technique in Nepal are discussed. These are that it is simple and inexpensive, and provides sufficient information (on tree age; b.a. growth rate and development; and the presence of rot) without necessitating felling.
