| Abstract | An initial report of trials set up in Schima/Castanopsis forest at 3 sites to determine the effects of various silvicultural options - simple coppice, coppice-with-standards (40% or 70% crown cover of standards), and high forest. In unmanaged forest, m.a.i. wood dry wt. was 4.9-6.5 t/ha, and standing foliage biomass 2.7-7.5 t/ha. Up to 50-60% of trees were identified as of fodder value. |
