| Abstract | Data are presented for yields measured (or in a few cases estimated by interpolations) on plots used to try different forms of forest management. The trial blocks were in the Khalti Forest, Kaski District, and the Nagarkot Forest, Bhaktapur District, Nepal; both are scrub forests of largely coppice origin. Dominant species were katus (Castanopsis spp.) - C. indica at Khalti and C. tribuloides at Nagarkot, and chilaune (Schima wallichii). The data do not have general applicability, but give a rough idea of yields to be expected from similar treatments of this kind of forest. |
