Professional experience
I have four years teaching (1996-2000) and seven years (2000-2007) research experiences in forest, soil and environment issues mainly focused on the anthropogenic influence in environment through land use and land use changes, carbon dynamics (carbon sequestration), and greenhouse gases fluxes which are relevant to global change issues. I have expertise in field research design, sampling of in-situ greenhouse gases, soils and plants, their processing and laboratory analysis. In addition, I have proven experience of soil incubation study in relation to greenhouse gas fluxes from soil under different manipulated scenarios and gas analysis utilizing gas chromatograph (GC) to determine main climate gases (CO2, CH4 and N2O). In addition to regular soil analysis, my lab experience involves determination of soil organic matter quality through acid hydrolysis method and 13C-NMR spectra interpretation. I have studied long-term soil carbon dynamics in landscape level through utilizing CENTURY model and also can run other models related to soil-plant environment. Additional skills involved are satellite image analysis and geographic information system (GIS) analysis to determine historical land use change dynamics. I have sound knowledge and skill in utilizing computer soft-wares including Microsoft office package (word, excel, access, power point etc), Adobe Acrobat professional, statistical soft-wares (SAS, Minitab, SPSS), image analysis soft-wares (e.g. Erdas Imagine, Idrisi, Ilwis) and GIS software (ArcView and ArcGIS). Until now, I have published 5 papers in peer reviewed journals and some manuscripts are in process. Publication includes also papers in proceedings, abstracts and manuals. I have attended several international meetings/conferences and have given oral presentations in some of them.
