About me

I have passed B.Sc.; B. Sc. Forestry from the IOF-TU, Nepal; Post Graduate Diploma in Ecology and Environment from the Institute of Ecology and Environment,(IIEE) New Delhi, India and Master Degree in Natural Resources Management with specialization in Integrated Watershed Development and Management from the Asian Institute of Technology (AIT) at Thailand. I have over 18 years of professional working experience in Community Forestry and Natural Resources Management sector with GO-INGOs and bilateral organizations. I have been working with Finland Government funded Rural Village Water Resource Management Project (RVWRMP) from 15 March 2007 till to date as a Water Resources Advisor and Team Leader cum Natural Resources Management Officer in Natural Resources Management Sector Assistance Programme (NARMSAP) for 12 years. Besides, I have worked approximately for 3.5 years in Dolkha and Rupandehi districts as a Forest Officer, Senior Agro-forester for 3 years in CARE Nepal. I gained adequate professional experiences in the area of NRM through strategies participatory gender led planning and monitoring of project/program in the Far and Mid Western districts. In addition, motivate especially marginalized and dis-advantageous community, DAG, Dalit and women to adopt Natural Resource Management practice to increase and sustained the productivity for their livelihood. I built skills to facilitate regional staffs and user groups to organize in a group/team, empower group/team to identify their problems and prioritized them, search the possible solutions from participatory decision, and solve problems in a sustainable basis. I revealed myself to people centered approach of community development, Natural Resource Management and Soil Conservation and Watershed Management. Besides, I also gained considerable experiences in conducting different training, workshop, Seminars, Study tours to the Officers, Rangers/Mid Level Technicians, NGOs, Leaders, Teachers, Women, Motivators, users and different stakeholders. In addition to that conducting extension activities to the users focusing women, Dalit and deprived groups (DAG) in the rural development and Natural Resource Management. Similarly, I have gained experience in income-generating activities (IGA) for livelihood development through production of Lali Gurans (Rhododendron arboreum) and Kafal (Myrica esculenta) herbal juice. A pilot program on Rhododendron and Kafal squash production was carried out in the Dadeldhura district with the active participation (network) of four C-FUGs. Likewise, initiated Environmental Friendly Model Village programs at Piplang village of Srimasta VDC in Humla for livelihood development.
