MPFS Programs and their Objectives
To meet the designed objectives, six primary development programs and six supportive development programs are fixed as follows;

To protect the land against degradation and conserve its value by mobilizing national and local resource. |

Ecosystem and genetic resource conservation programs. |
To protect special areas for their ecosystem and genetic resource values, as well as for the provision of amenities and to promote In-situ and ex-situ conservation of plant and wildlife genetic resources. |

To strengthen the research and development, as well as the extension and public information capability of the forestry sector, and to promote the utilization of the results of research. 5 The resource information system and Planning assistance programs. To develop within the ministry of Forests and Soil conservation a forest resource information system and enhance capability for undertaking surveys, inventories and other information generating activities and for using management information in long term and operational planning by the government and private sector. 6 The monitoring and evaluation programs. To institutionalize a system for monitoring forestry development operations and their impacts and for processing monitoring data into information to guide the further information.
