• Working with park staff develops a law enforcement strategy that provides protection to the 36,000 sq km Salonga National Park.
• Assessing the capacity of the 250 'Ecoguards' and establish a recruitment process to expand the field force to up to 500 if required.
• Developing or outsource in-house training courses for the Ecoguards to cover the full range of skills and activities required of the field force...
• Manage and supervise radio communications throughout the park.
• Working with colleagues, make full use of SMART to monitor patrols and activities within the park.
• Working with the detachment of the Congolese Army who is assigned to support the Ecoguards with anti-poaching operations. (The Ecoguards are comfortable in the forest but lack the necessary military skills while the opposite is true of the army).

Profile:Required qualifications:

• At least 5 years of field experience in law enforcement (anti-corruption, anti-poaching, wildlife law) or/and protected area management, preferably in tropical forests.
• Proven capacity development skills with experience in developing training resources and delivering training are required.
• Ability to work in remote areas and under difficult conditions with demonstrated creative problems-solving skills.

REQUEST FOR PROPOSAL - RFP For Field-testing of the National Forest Stewardship Standard (NFSS) for Tanzania Mainland

Tanzania has been in process of developing National Forest Stewardship Standards basing on FSC certification scheme. The Standards Development Group (SDG), submitted an application to FSC International on the intent to write National Forest stewardship Standards (NFSS) and was approved in 2015. The SDG has received strong support from World Wide Fund for Nature - (WWF) Tanzania Country Office and technical and financial support from FSC Regional office for East Africa. The SDG has completed the zero draft of NFSS and has gone through stakeholders consultation's for the last 60 days.

Field-testing is one of the key milestones to ensure consistency of the National Standard under development. The global FSC methodology to conduct a field-test within NFSS Development across the world could need some adaptations to the particular context for Tanzania mainland (large plantations, strong/exclusive dependence of communities' livelihoods to the forest).

The overall objective of the field test is to assess the auditability of the draft 1 of the national standards proposed by SDG. In other words, field tests are a means to ensure that SDG propose a clear wording for each nationally adapted Indicator, which could be audited and applicable everywhere in the Tanzania mainland. For this reason, the SDG has decided to launch NFSS field-test in the Tanzania mainland. A consistent methodology for the field tests will be a major result.

The field testing of the first draft of the national adapted Indicators which is planned to happen in May 2016, will provide an additional opportunity to engage forest owners, companies, directly affected stakeholders and other interested parties in the national standard development process, as prescribed by FSC international requirements. The second draft of the NFSS proposed by the SDG shall be posted for a 2-month public consultation by the second quarter of 2016. The pilot field-test will be held in both natural forests and plantations in the month of MAY 2016.

A Call for Tender is invited to Certification Bodies (CB) to conduct pilot field test. TRAFFIC, the wildlife trade monitoring network, works to ensure that trade in wild animals and plants is not a threat to the conservation of nature.  We actively monitor and investigate wildlife trade and provide information to diverse audiences worldwide as a basis for effective conservation policies and programmes. TRAFFIC is a strategic alliance of World Wide Fund for Nature (WWF) and the International Union for Conservation of Nature (IUCN) and is an international network, organised into six regional programmes.
 Characteristic Duties 
This position will be responsible for managing the TRAFFIC database and ensuring the ongoing collection and global collation of TRAFFIC data on illegal goods movements; ensuring these data, received from a wide variety of sources, are entered into the specialist software system; and carrying out analyses of the data as time allows. Background: 
The worldwide Fund for Nature (WWF) has launched an ambitious program of conservation in the Congo Basin. In the Democratic Republic of Congo (DRC), WWF is implementing eight action programs including one active since 2005 in the Salonga National Park (PNS) and its landscape.
 
The Salonga National Park, second rainforest protected area of in the world by area, contains a biological diversity of exceptional value. Species, ecosystems, and ecological processes contained in this protected area constitute a heritage of the first order for the Congolese Institute for the Conservation of Nature (ICCN), the DRC, as well as the whole of humanity.
 
However, serious threats weigh on the PNS featuring not only endangering the outstanding universal values of the site but also jeopardizing the initiatives of sustainable management of natural
resources in the heart of the Congo Basin.
 
Under the CAFEC project, funded by USAID, WWF will implement a work programme over the next five years primarily oriented towards the protected area and its periphery, the whole forming a priority landscape of the COMIFAC (Central African Forest Commission). This program brings together the ICCN and various conservation NGOs as well as financial partners.
 
It is also anticipated, with the help of additional funding that WWF will engage, along with ICCN in establishing a co-management procedure involving ICCN to WWF and several other conservation NGOs, supported by funding from several donors including USAID, KfW and the EU, in order to strengthen the management of the PNS.
 
In this context, the Administrator of the Salonga Program will oversee the implementation of administrative procedures, financial control and human resources of the program based in Monkoto.
 Location:The position is based at Kinshasa with frequent trip in Monkoto.
 Main duties:

• Technical coordination: Assist in the development of operational plans, budgets and contractual arrangements for activities under the direct responsibility of the Salonga Program Manager. 
• Human and financial resources management: with the direct support of the Human Resources Office, the Finance Department of WWF DRC and the local Administrative Assistant, the Administrator will provide the technical supervision of program staff as well as its financial management. Responsible for justification of expenditures, the review of financial reports, budget planning, etc., according to established procedures of financial partners and WWF. Ensure that budgets are approved by the Program Manager and expenditures justified before sending them to the accounting unit. 
• Assist the "Finance, Administration and HR Department" of the PNS so that it can produce, respecting established management procedures, the Park's annual financial statements (Balance sheet, income statement, detailed explanatory annexes) in a condition to be audited annually by an internationally accredited auditing firm.
• Strengthening partnerships: The Administrator will support the Program Manager in the structuring of a strategic partnership with ICCN and other partners in order to establish a co-management structure leading to a significant improvement in the management of the PNS. This will mainly include: the development of partnership agreements with ICCN and other partners; supporting the development of a Foundation (statutes, structure of entities; establishment of committees etc.); supporting the preparation of descriptions for key positions and capacity-building for the PNS management unit; support the implementation of the operational plan of the PNS; participate in the resolution of conflicts, etc. 

Main responsibilities: 

• Contribute to the preparation of budgets in accordance with the standards of WWF and the donors under the supervision of the Program Director.
• Ensure that adequate finance and administration systems and procedures are operational throughout the WWF sites attached to the program;
• Contribute, in consultation with  ICCN's financial and administrative unit (DAF ICCN) and in close cooperation with partners on the site, in the drafting of the manual of managing budgetary, accounting and financial procedures specific to the PNS, which will be based on the General provisions laid down by the DAF-ICCN;
• Ensure that the "Finance, Administration and HR Department" of the PNS provides rigorous  budget and management and rigorous that enables the production, within legal deadlines and according to OHADA standards, of auditable and certifiable annual financial statements;
• Produce and complete on time monthly financial reports, bank reconciliations and financial information requested by the national office;
• Ensure the development and implementation of financial procedures aligned with the standards of WWF and current Congolese legislation  as well as the requirements of donors;
• Prepare requests for funds based on solid expenditure plans consistent with the technical program;
• Ensure a proper posting of expenditures based on authorized budgets as well as proper documentation;
• Prepare and facilitate external and internal financial audits and participate if needed in other monitoring and evaluation processes;
• Prepare contracts and ensure that they are in accordance with current legislation;
•  Ensure that the payment of salaries is made in a timely manner;
• Execution of other tasks entrusted by the hierarchy for the needs of the Service.

The Project Manager position for Illegal Wildlife Trade, based in Yangon, is open to Myanmar nationals and will lead WWF's strategy to address all aspects of wildlife crime and will coordinate closely with Government, civil society, law enforcement agencies, INGOs, and the international community particularly in the Greater Mekong region.

Major responsibilities
 
The Illegal Wildlife Trade (IWT) Project Manager will ensure implementation of projects under the WWF Myanmar that tackle wildlife crime, particularly the trade in tigers and their parts, as well as other iconic threatened species in Myanmar. S/He leads the development and implementation of WWF-Myanmar Illegal Wildlife Trade work, as described in the WWF Myanmar country strategy. Requirements

• Bachelor's degree in species, forestry or relevant fields; master degree as an advantage

The Greater Mekong (Cambodia, Laos, Myanmar, Thailand and Vietnam) is one of the global hubs of wildlife trade - a perfect storm of a source, transit route, and final destination for many of the world's most valuable and threatened wildlife products. Trade routes through, and demand originating from, the Mekong countries threaten the persistence of some of the planet's most charismatic species including tiger, Asian and African elephants, and all rhino species. Co-ordinated inter-governmental action is therefore required to leverage global commitments for cracking wildlife trade into effective action on the ground across the Greater Mekong. The Hanoi Conference on Wildlife Trade planned for November 2016, and part of the inter-governmental process initiated at the London Conference on the Illegal Wildlife Trade, provides an opportunity to leverage regional governmental commitments to effectively act against wildlife trafficking in the region.
 
WWF is seeking an experienced Wildlife Trade Technical Advisor who will lead and co-ordinate our advocacy and political efforts around, and beyond, the Hanoi Conference to galvanise regional governmental action focussing on closing some of the most insidious wildlife markets left on the planet.
 
Base location: Yangon, Vientiane or Hanoi
Key requirements:

• Degree in conservation, environmental policy, or relevant fields
• At least 5 years experience in environmental advocacy, policy, and/or political campaigning related to natural resource management
