Job Summary: The International Food Policy Research Institute (IFPRI) is seeks to hire up to 3 Senior Research Assistants/Research Analysts (RA) to work with senior researchers from the Poverty, Health and Nutrition Division at IFPRI’s New Delhi Office and with researchers at IFPRI’s Washington office. The successful candidate/s will support the research, communications and policy engagement activities under a broad portfolio of research on the effectiveness of agriculture, gender, social protection, health and/or nutrition programs. Job duties will include support to program evaluations, quantitative data analysis, literature reviews and support to preparation of reports and journal manuscripts. Occasional support to policy and stakeholder communications activities is also expected. Successful candidates will work with an energetic set of senior researchers based both in IFPRI’s New Delhi and Washington DC offices who straddle academic fields in economics and nutrition and work in strong collaborative project teams. The RA will work with David Laborde and GRP 2 team and assist senior researchers in implementing data analysis and economic modeling activities. Responsibilities also include literature-based research and writing in order to produce papers, conference and workshop presentations, policy briefs and other research products that will be widely disseminated. This position is based in IFPRI Headquarters in Washington, D.C. Essential Duties: Specific duties and responsibilities include but are not limited to: Assist with collection, categorization, documentation, and cleaning of primary data and secondary data from various sources, particularly for agricultural, biofuels, and energy commodities. Assist with economic modeling (partial equilibrium and/or computable general equilibrium models). On occasion, actual coding and modification of existing model code will be called for.
