Twenty five groundnut genotypes were collected from National Oilseed Research Program (NORP), Nawalpur, Sarlahi, Nepal along with local checks (B -4, Jyoti and Jayanti) were used to study their genetic variability of pod yield, oil and protein content. The study helps to expand the options of variety for pod yield, oil and protein content as per farmers need. Significant variations were observed for all the characters in all the genotypes used in the experiment. Genotypes ICGV-98089, ICGV-92173, ICGV-88473, ICGV-91074, ICGV-00350, ICGV-97100 and ICGV-99171 had higher pod yield, oil % and protein % compared to traditional genotype B-4 and Jayanti. The character protein % and oil % showed highly heritable. Hence, selection of genotypes can be made during the improvement program through individual plant selection. The characters days to maturity, haulm yield and pod length for pod yield and SLA and SMK percent for oil yield considered as prime importance while selecting the best genotypes.
