<p>Albizia chinensis shows much potential as a multipurpose plantation-grown species for use on private or community lands in India. It is a large deciduous tree and found throughout the sub- Himalayan tract from Himachal Pradesh, eastwards, through Uttar Pradesh, northern west Bengal, Assam and the eastern hill states. The tree is extensively cultivated in tea gardens for shade and improving the fertility of soil. With regards propagating techniques, proper root and shoot pruning greatly aids in reducing transplanting shock and promotes successful plant establishment. Therefore, the present study was undertaken to evaluate the effect of root and shoot pruning on the growth and biomass production of Albizia chinensis seedlings.</p>
