Projections and policy implications of food supply and demand in Nepal to the year 2020

This paper is one of a series which reports the findings of policy analysis conducted in Nepal with the support of the Policy Analysis in Agriculture and Related Resource Management program, which aims to strengthen the capacity of Nepalese individuals and institutions to conduct empirical research in areas that are relevant to policy formulation in agriculture and related areas of natural resource management (forests, water, soils, rangelands). Topics covered in this publication include a review of agricultural policies; trends in public investment in agriculture; trends in input use, area, yield, production, total factor productivity, consumption, and trade for major food crops; agriculture and the environment; projections of food crop supply, demand and trade balances; etc.
