In a report submitted to Regional Community Forestry Training Center for Asia and the Pacific (RECOFTC), Bangkok, Thailand, Dr. Keshav Raj Kanel of Department of Forest documents the current status of community forestry in Nepal.

The report reviews various institutions involved in community forestry in Nepal as well as different policies, acts and rules pertaining to community forestry. It also discusses existing forest management models in Nepal, issues and challenges faced by community forestry and lessons learnt.
