| Abstract | Grewia optiva occurs in India, Nepal, Pakistan and Bhutan, and is a multipurpose tree. Its habit, morphology, and some chemical constituents were studied through intensive field work in Indo-Nepal Himalaya, in major herbaria in India and Nepal, and through some laboratory experiments. The habit and morphology showed considerable diversity in India and Nepal. In general, the tree height and girth were found to be higher, and leaves were more nutritive in plants collected in Nepal than those collected in India. |
