Like many developing countries, Nepal faces serious challenges, including poverty, a growing population, natural resource constraints, and poor access to basic health services. Some areas of Nepal have successfully organized community groups of forest users to address these and other challenges.

The SOIL Action of the Joint Research Center (JRC), located at Ispra, Italy is pleased to announce a special meeting with invited Soil scientists from Nepal to discuss the Status of Nepalese Soil Information Systems, Soil Data base, Soil Classification and Mapping, Issue of Digital Soil Map of Nepal and many more soil related issues that have direct/indirect influences on the Nepalese environment and society. Interested Nepalese Soil Experts, Pedologists, Soil Conservationists, Pedometricians and others could contact us directly if they wish to participate.
