Forest Products Development Board (FPDB) sells roundwood, fuelwood and poles harvested from its own plantations. Established in 1975, FPDB is a semi-autonomous body. FPDB has established plantations by clearing degraded Sal ([[Shorea robusta]]) forest and other [[forest types]] and replacing them with fast growing species such as [[Eucalyptus]], [[Tectona grandis]] and [[Dalbergia sissoo]]. Forest products include roundwood, fuelwood, poles for transmission lines, wood residue (locally known as koro) and raw materials for the particle board industry.
