Distribution:

National: Terai and inner Terai.

Global: Asia, Africa and Australia.
Distinctive Characters: An adult python may measure from 8 to 16 feet. The head is elliptical and is covered with a diamond shaped marking. The body is round and cylindrical. The eyes look like as that of cat. The jaws can be opened to full 1800.
Habitat: Occurs in tropical and lower subtropical zones inhabiting dense or open forests, rocky areas and river belts.
Threats: Pythons are killed for their skins. Due to the large size (up to 6 m. in length), attractive markings and strength, the skin of Indian Python is the most valuable of all of snake skins.
