RESEARCH OFFICER - Terai Arc Landscape Program
Major Responsibilities: This position is responsible for all field based research and monitoring activities focusing mainly on species, habitat and ecosystem conservation and management using standard research methodologies to collect and analyze the field data. In addition, the person will also need to effectively communicate science through regular publication of research findings and maintenance of database, and the coordination and networking with global WWF network and other national and international partner institutions in matters related to conservation science. Will be required to go on frequent field visits to WWF project sites.
Qualifications: A Masters Degree in Wildlife Biology or Ecology or Environmental Science with at least 5 years of experience in the country in the related field is required. It is essential that the individual is technically proficient in contemporary research methodologies.

- Advanced technical writing skills in conservation science.
- Clarifies purpose and importance; stresses major points; follows a logical sequence in written and oral communications.
- Should be able to seek opportunities, with an ability to capture others’ and own ideas to develop on it further and facilitate agreements from partners on new ideas;
- Should be able to think expansively with an ability to combine ideas in unique ways; targets important areas for innovation and develops solutions that address meaningful work issues.
- Dedicates required time and energy to assignments or tasks to ensure that no aspect of the work is neglected setting standards for excellence;
- Establishes good interpersonal relationships by helping people feel valued, appreciated, and included in discussions.
- Highly adaptive and willing to work in physically demanding remote field locations
