The Livelihoods and Forestry Programme (LFP) is a ten-year joint initiative between the Ministry of Forest and Soil Conservation, Nepal, and the UK Department for International Development (DFID). LFP started in April 2001 and is based on DFID's Country Assistance Plan. LFP aims to enhance the assets of rural communities through more equitable, efficient, and sustainable use of forest resources and hence, promote better livelihoods for poor, rural people. LFP operates in 7 hill districts, 3 terai districts and 5 districts in mid-western region of Nepal.
