| Abstract | The paper addresses the issues of policy-making with regard to land resources in the Hindu Kush-Himalayas, including policies for forestry, agriculture, biodiversity, land tenure, and the role of the State. Eight chapters are presented: scope and focus; approach; an overview of international and national frameworks for land policy; forestry; agriculture; national parks, biodiversity and wildlife; land tenure, titling, and property rights; and strategic conclusions. The countries discussed in the case studies are: Bangladesh; Bhutan; China; India; Nepal; and Pakistan. |
