| Abstract | A study was conducted to compare the stand characteristics of different Dalbergia sissoo stands in 30 research sites, both natural and plantation, in the lowland of Nepal. Results showed that majority (29 stands) of the stands were dying. No relationship between soil pH and mortality was observed. No definite trend exists between soil texture and mortality, however, D. sissoo dieback was prominent in the stands with stiff clay and waterlogged soils. The decline was also intensified by waterlogging. |
