| Abstract | Two species of Sea Buckthorn ( Hippophae ) namely, H. salicifolia and H. tibetana have been reported in Nepal. This paper attempts to review the taxonomy and morphology, distribution, environmental requirement, propagation, management of natural stands, current and prospective use, medicinal uses, and tincture so far done in Sea Buckthorn in Nepal while incorporating necessary information published by the Indian as well as Chinese workers. The Sea Buckthorn development programmes, research needed and policy intervention for developing the species are presented. |
