| Abstract | Lactating buffaloes were given 1 of 6 tree fodders, Tanki (Bauhinia purpurea), Nebharo (Ficus auriculata), Kutmero (Litsea monopetala), Ryekhanyu (Ficus semicordata), Khasrekhanyu (Ficus cunia) and Shyalphusro (Grewia oppositifolia), for a period of 2 wk. For all fodders except Nebharo milk yield increased by 0.2 to 0.5 kg/day. Nebharo decreased milk yield, and this is thought to be due to its poor digestibility, and the presence of high amounts of hemicellulose and tannins. |
