| Abstract | A brief account is given of various silvicultural investigations with Indigofera teysmanni [I. teysmannii], a multipurpose tree, in the terai/bhabar terai region of Nepal. These include seed treatment studies, the use of stumps as planting stock (unsuccessful), growth and fuelwood production potential, interplanting with other tree species (Eucalyptus camaldulensis, Acacia catechu, and Acrocarpus fraxinifolius) for weed control in plantations, and coppicing ability. There have been no reports of pest or disease problems other than an infection by Ganoderma endochroum after pollarding in Adabhar Parsa District. |
