<p>This study was conducted to determine the current status of serow (Capricornis sumatraensis ssp. thar) in southern belt of the Annapura Conservation Area (ACA) of Nepal. The paper focused on the habitat preference of serow in Ghandruk and Landruk forest areas of ACA Nepal. It was established that serow prefers areas within 2500-3500 m altitude, steep sloped (20 to 40%), and with different cover features to provide protection from weather, predation and human hunting. Serow prefers palatable plants and most often, these plants have higher nutrient contents than plants that are avoided.</p>
