| Abstract | <p>A questionnaire survey was conducted among the farmers in the 6 hill districts of Koshi and Mechi zones of eastern Nepal. Scores for the perceived nutritive value and palatability of each tree fodder were analysed using a matrix ranking technique. The rankings for the 15 most preferred trees are listed for each district. The 10 most preferred species overall were kutmiro (Litsea monopetala), tanki (Bauhinia purpurea), dudhilo (Ficus neriifolia), nebharo (F. roxburghii), gogun (Saurauia napaulensis), badahar (Artocarpus lakoocha), ghotli (Grewia oppositifolia), bans (Dendrocalamus sp.), khasre khanyu (F. semicordata var. montana) and raikhanyu (F. semicordata var. semicordata).</p> |
