ACOFUN is a national association of forest users which advocates for collaborative forestry users groups’ rights at local, regional and national level. ACOFUN’s main focus is to manage block forest in a sustainable way to fulfill the needs of entire users i.e. close, mid and distant. Its membership has been extended mainly in the Terai districts covering numerous people from rural-based farmers to urban community. In its initial stage of extension, it has extended its networking in 7 Terai and Siwalik districts. Since its establishment in 2007, ACOFUN has been committed and practical in representing the voice of excluded users for reserving their rights on forest resources. It has been involved in several debates about policy formulations to realize better futures of forest.
