Call for papers National Workshop on Biodiversity & Community Forestry

4-5 August, 2015, Kathmandu, Nepal

Established in 1982, Bird Conservation Nepal (BCN) is leading non-governmental organization devoted in awareness generation, policy advocacy and scientific research on conservation of birds and their habitats in Nepal. The organization has been the proven knowledge-base and excellence centre on the issues of Nepalese bird conservation and related researches. The BCN, Nepalese partner of Birdlife International, further collaborates with the Ministry of Forest and Soil Conservation, and many others governmental/non-governmental and civil society organizations, for the conservation of Nepal's rich biodiversity and ecosystems; and promotion of ecotourism and rural livelihoods.

Funded by UK's Darwin Initiative, BCN, Birdlife International, Department of Forests and FECOFUN jointly organize a national workshop on the theme of "Biodiversity, Ecosystems Services and Community Forestry" with the objectives of bringing the renowned scientists, policy makers, academicians and practitioners in a place to discuss the various issues and problems in order to develop the common understanding and find out the solutions for the better performance of Community Forestry to sustain biodiversity and continue ecosystem services in order to promote their livelihoods.

The workshop organizing committee cordially invites you to submit 1 page abstract (max. 300 words) and thematic papers for peer review. Accepted abstract compulsorily needs to submit a full paper (~8 pages, < 3,000 words) and make ~20 minutes presentation in the workshop. Accepted papers will be published in peer reviewed WS proceedings. Small honorarium will be provided to accepted paper for publication.
