Agriculture, forestry and knowledge in communication technology

It is noted that women in countries like India and Nepal possess deep-rooted knowledge about their immediate environment due to their economic dependence of their surroundings. On the basis of a discussion of women's knowledge and technology, indigenous knowledge and gender, problems in scientific technology transfer and the value of indigenous knowledge and intellectual property rights, the main argument of the paper is that although there are often contradictions in the goals of international development work, it is possible to combine them in the agricultural, livestock and natural resource management sector, when women's knowledge is used in the right manner.
