| Abstract | Kutmiro ( Litsea monopetala ) is one of the most used fodder tree species in the mid-hill districts of Nepal. In a 5-year trial, the trees were pollarded 1.5 m above ground level and then lopped at the same height each year, or pollarded at 1.5 m in the first year and thereafter lopped by traditional farmers practice (lopped completely without leaving branches), or was lopped throughout as in traditional practice. These 3 practices gave mean fresh fodder yields of 15.9, 16.0 and 11.4 kg/year, respectively. |
