Local Initiatives For Biodiversity, Research And Development (LI-BIRD) is a Pokhara-based non-profit making NGO working for research and development in the field of agriculture, biodiversity and natural resource management. It is committed to capitalise on local initiatives for sustainable management of renewable natural resources and improved livelihood of people in Nepal through participatory research and development programmes. Applications are invited from qualified Nepali citizens, for the following positions.
Project Coordinator, PROLINNOVA (PROmoting Local INNOVAtion) Level 8-1, Pokhara based with frequent travel to projects sites.
The incumbent is responsible for providing overall leadership, planning and implementation of PROLINNOVA Programme (including projects within the umbrella). S/he acts as focal point between PROLINNOVA Nepal Programme Country Secretariat Office (CSO) and National Working Group (NWG) and National Steering Committee (NSC), lead and coordinate with partner organizations and monitor country programme implemented by the partner organization; Assists Country Programme Coordinator in overall management of PROLINNOVA Nepal Programme; and Reports to Programme Coordinator-AILS Programme.
Qualification and Competence
- Masters Degree in Agriculture or Natural Resource Management, with at least 5 years of project management experience with INGO/NGO·
- Multi-disciplinary knowledge and skill through training and/or work experience·
- Proven leadership, management and coordination skill at national and international level·
- Good spoken and written English with ability to produce analytical reports.
