AbstractRegeneration of microplants was observed from the excised shoot tips (2-3 mm) from five-year-old plants of Santalum album . Green callus was initiated in Murashige and Skoog (MS) medium supplemented with benzyl amino purine (BAP), 1.0 mg/1 and naphthylene acitic acid (NAA), 0.1 mg/1. Microplants were regenerated in MS medium supplemented with BAP, 1.0 mg/1 and kinetin, 1.5 mg/1 and coconut milk 10 percent. Roots were observed in non-sterile sand. The rooted plants were successfully planted in the field.
