This paper aims at developing allometric equations for Eucalyptus camaldulensis to estimate biomass; assessing the proportion of stem, branches and leaves in the above ground biomass and determining the percentages of sapwood, heartwood and bark in the bole. Plantation areas of Sagarnath Forest Development Project were selected for this research. 59 sample trees were felled after being selected randomly based on diameter classes out of which, 40 trees were used to develop allometric equations and the remaining 19 trees used for validation. Tree height and diameter at breast height were measured before felling. Samples of bole, branches and leaves were taken and then bark, heartwood and sapwood were separately dried in the lab. Based on diameter at breast height and tree height, the allometric equations for biomass estimation were developed. Bole biomass ranged from 74.32% to 78.98%, whereas biomass of branches ranged from 11.34% to 14.04% and that of leaves ranged from 9.68% to 11.64%. Similarly, percentage of bark, sapwood and heartwood was estimated to be 13.5, 45.76 and 39.75 respectively. R2 values for bole (0.94), branch (0.95) and leaves (0.97) were calculated. After validation, RMSE for boles, branches and leaves was found to be 0.34, 0.19 and 0.98 respectively.
