| Abstract | The working group on fodder tree/leaf litter research was initiated by the fodder tree section of the Nepal-UK Forestry Research Project in June 1986. The proceedings of its first meeting were published as FRIC Occasional Paper No. 3/87. The second meeting was larger (55 attendees from various disciplines representing 22 organizations from Nepal). The proceedings are in 2 parts. Part I contains the texts of the 20 short presentations given. Topics covered included farming systems research, ownership of trees on private land, the fodder situation in various districts, identification of useful fodder trees, grass productivity in a chir pine [Pinus roxburghii] plantation, nutritional evaluation of fodder and browse, Nepal-UK Forestry Research Project activities related to fodder trees, and preliminary results of fodder tree trials. Part II summarizes the discussion and recommendations of the group. |
