Government of Nepal (GON) is implementing Micro-Enterprise Development Programme - Phase III (MEDEP - III) with supports from United Nations Development Programme (UNDP). The purpose of MEDEP is to provide support to Government of Nepal to design Policies and take initiatives to expand employment opportunities through Micro-Enterprise Development for Poor, Youths, Women and Socially Excluded Groups in selected districts. MEDEP intends to recruit the following professional and support staffs on contractual basis and applications are invited from the interested and qualified citizens of Nepal for the following positions:
Position: Micro-Enterprise Specialist (MES) - NPPP II

Duty Station: Area Programme Support Office (APSO) in the regions
Job Responsibilities:
Under the direct supervision of National Programme Manager (NPM), MES will be responsible for implementing programmes in the districts following MEDEP model; work closely with District Development Committee (DDC) and District Enterprise Development Committee (DEDC); assess the needs of the DEDC members particularly Enterprise Development Unit (EDU) of DDC, Cottage and Small Industry Office (CSIO), Cottage and Small Industry Development Board (CSIDB) Office, Business Development Service Providing Organisations (BDSPOs) and District Micro-Entrepreneurs Group Associations (DMEGA.S) and provide technical supports to train them on MEDEP model and internalise the model into the relevant organisations for continuity of micro-enterprise programmes in the district; co-ordinate with DDCs, VDCs and other organisations to generate resources to implement micro-enterprise development; monitor and evaluate the programme activities and report regularly to NPM, NPSO/MEDEP and DEDC; provide support to DDCs and VDCs to develop and implement Enterprise Development Plans; transfer budget in Micro-Enterprise Development Fund (MEDF) as per Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) between MEDEP and DDC; sub-contract BDSPOs and DMEGAs and regularly monitor; carryout financial control to ensure the effective utilisation of resources, ensure the transparent recording of the transaction by BDSPOs or DMEGAs or other partner organisations and safeguard of assets; ensure gender and social inclusion principles and concepts are implemented at all levels; develop Terms of Reference (TOR) for consultants.
Qualifications, Experiences and Language:
Master's Degree from recognised university in Management, Agribusiness Management, Natural Resource Management, Agriculture, Forestry, Social Sciences or relevant subjects. S/He should have at least 7 years experience in enterprise development sectors, and/or poverty alleviation activities in Nepal and have knowledge of operating Microsoft windows packages such as Word, Excel, Access and some packages of database management with typing skills in Nepali and English languages. Good command of both Nepali and English languages and excellent report writing skills. Previous experience in managerial capacity will be an added advantage.
