Current Forestry Projects in Nepal

Environment and Forest Enterprise Activity (EFEA) was a joint effort of His Majesty's Government of Nepal (HMG/N) and United States Agency for International Development/Nepal (USAID/N). EFEA was built on the past two decades of USAID/N's rural development programming in the Rapti Zone.

The programme builds on the success of the Hills Leasehold Forestry and Forage Development Project (HLFFDP) in helping set up leasehold forestry groups that will eventually become village finance associations.

The project will assist the Government to implement important components of its forestry master plan and forestry sector policy by helping to establish a system to conserve and expand the forest
